Elegantly Creamy Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting
This Frosting is Chocolate with a hint of orange with the richness of cream cheese! My neighbor loves it so much that she stirs a heaping tablespoon in a glass of milk.
Servings: 8
- 5 Tbsp Unsalted Butter Softened not melted
- 5 Tbsp Cream Cheese Softened
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- 3 Tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream
- DaSH Salt
- 1/3 cup 100% Chocolate Cocoa Powder Sifted.
- 3 cups Powdered Sugar Sifted.
- 2 Tbsp Freshly squeezed orange I use the juice from one of the following oranges, Mandarin, Tangelo, Cutie. These have a nice flavor of orange.
Sift together the Powdered Sugar, Cocoa Powder and set aside.
Add the Cream Cheese and the Unsalted Butter to a bowl and set aside to soften.
Once the cake has cooled for 50 minutes you are ready to mix the frosting.
Blend the Cream Cheese and Butter until it is smooth.
I use the hand mixer to blend the Cream Cheese and Butter.
Add the Vanilla, and Heavy Whipping Cream into the bowl with the Butter and Cream Cheese. Mix it in.
You will be incorporating the dry ingredients only 1/2 cup at a time. I usually fold this in with the butter cream cheese using a spoon so it doesnt spatter.
Add the orange juice and finish by using the hand mixer for the final blend.
Ice the cake and your ready to enjoy!
This frosting compliments the Moist Eggless Chocolate Cake recipe I have on this site.
