Elegantly Creamy Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

This Frosting is Chocolate with a hint of orange with the richness of cream cheese! My neighbor loves it so much that she stirs a heaping tablespoon in a glass of milk.

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl Medium size

Ingredients

  • 5 Tbsp Unsalted Butter Softened not melted
  • 5 Tbsp Cream Cheese Softened
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream
  • DaSH Salt
  • 1/3 cup 100% Chocolate Cocoa Powder Sifted.
  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar Sifted.
  • 2 Tbsp Freshly squeezed orange I use the juice from one of the following oranges, Mandarin, Tangelo, Cutie. These have a nice flavor of orange.

Instructions

  • Sift together the Powdered Sugar, Cocoa Powder and set aside.
  • Add the Cream Cheese and the Unsalted Butter to a bowl and set aside to soften.
  • Once the cake has cooled for 50 minutes you are ready to mix the frosting.
  • Blend the Cream Cheese and Butter until it is smooth.
  • I use the hand mixer to blend the Cream Cheese and Butter.
  • Add the Vanilla, and Heavy Whipping Cream into the bowl with the Butter and Cream Cheese. Mix it in.
  • You will be incorporating the dry ingredients only 1/2 cup at a time. I usually fold this in with the butter cream cheese using a spoon so it doesnt spatter.
  • Add the orange juice and finish by using the hand mixer for the final blend.
  • Ice the cake and your ready to enjoy!
