Enticing Cube Steak with Au Jus Gravy
Ingredients
5 cube Steaks
1 whole large onion cut in half then slice. Separate pieces
1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons A1 Steak sauce
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup chives
1 8 oz package of sliced mushrooms (optional)
2 Tablespoons butter
3 Tablespoons Avocado oil or olive oil
Directions
Out of the 5 cubed steaks usually 2 of them will be larger than the other three. So just cut those two cubed steaks in half so that they are approximately the same size of the other cubed steaks.
Place the oil and butter in a large skillet. I use a 20-inch skillet.
In a small bowl mix all the spices together. You can add the spices to the meat the night before so it will add additional flavor to the steaks. Sprinkle it onto the cubed steaks front and back. Massage the spices into the meat.
Turn on the stove burner to medium in order to brown the steaks
After the steaks are lightly browned, set them aside on a plate.
In the same skillet, saute some onions and add the water, chives, butter, steak sauce Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil and turn it down to low. Add the steaks to the gravy and cover with a lid. Simmer on low for about 5 to 10 minutes and you’re done.
The mushrooms were optional so if you are adding the mushrooms you will need to saute them first before adding the steaks back to the pan.
